Karli Nelson was born in Astoria and grew up across the river in Naselle, WA. In a family of performers, the Nelson sisters spent years creating music and movies with cousins and friends. In school, she was involved in several MCT shows and nine school musicals, besides being active in bands and choir. Such experiences developed her passion for performing arts.

Karli graduated from Northwest University and then worked as a youth pastor. In her role, she found ways to integrate performing arts— directing holiday pageants and drama camps, besides serving on music teams. After returning to Naselle in 2019, she began working at Naselle School as a special education para and school bus driver. This year, she added the role of Drama Club director. She is thrilled to return to her home stage and introduce the arts to young people in rural communities.
